Ready for work

My week off is coming to a close. It's back to the old salt mine in the morning.

It was a very nice vacation. Great to see everybody in L.V., and the skiing was certainly fine. I had a nice drive down to W. Va. from WNY. Stopped outside Pittsburgh at a store that's part of a chain I like (Gander Mountain Sports) and got new boots. It was sunny much of the way.

The only problem during that part of the trip was the temperature -- just too warm. So I didn't stay long. Got up Thursday morning and headed back here.

Since getting home, C and I have seen Breach, which we liked. We also watched The Departed on DVD. Another good movie. Tonight, of course, I'm looking forward to Amazing Race. Don't really care that much about the Oscars.

BTW, dinner today was roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding. Both turned out very well.

I hope all are well.

Update at 6:30 p.m. ET: I see that Into My Sixties has broken big news about Bridget coming East!.

Brrrrrrr!

C and I tried out snowshoes Saturday in W. Va. As you can see, it was a beautiful -- but very cold -- day. Snowshoes have certainly changed. Very easy to walk in and quite nice when you're going up and down hills. We lasted about an hour, I think, at the funky/hippie cross country skiing center in the valley.
We got there Friday (I had the day off because I worked on Super Sunday). I spent the afternoon downhill skiing.
After our snowshoe adventure on Saturday, we puttered around local towns a bit.
Looking forward to coming north next week. Hope it's still cold and that the snow is still good.
