Meanwhile, thanks for all the birthday cards and good wishes. I had a nice week off that turned into something of a week-long birthday event. A couple days in the mountains. A couple days here fooling around with the new HDTV and new DVD player. Time to exercise. A good lunch out with E and C. A good music DVD from M. All in all a very nice way to celebrate.

Cleaning out the house
The new floor that led to a leak that led to a newly painted and carpeted basement has led to a lot of cleaning, clearing out of junk and general refurbishing of the whole house.
More of the work continued yesterday and today. I think I made my fourth trip in the past couple weeks to the landfill. We've reorganized the storage area in the basement, moved quite a bit of furniture from room to room and generally used all this as a good excuse to go over the past 14 years worth of accumulation.
Meanwhile, E is spending the night here tonight because her roommates are all away and she was lonely. M worked a lot this weekend -- straight through from lunch to dinner yesterday and again for lunch into the late afternoon today.
Tuesday, it's back to the dentist for me to get the process started for a new crown to go over the tooth that I had the root canal done on the week before last.
After this week, I'll be off for a week. I hope to spend a fair amount of that time in the mountains, getting the house ready for the winter and perhaps fishing. Anyone and everyone are welcome to come down to visit.
