A Space Shuttle, a Yorkshire Pudding & a Big Brother

There was lots of eating and quite a bit of site-seeing the past couple days down here in Chantilly.

Friday, I drove into D.C. to pick up Ed and his friend Oscar at their hotel. They'd been in town for an American Petroleum Institute conference that sounds as if it will lead to decisions that could affect the industry for years to come.

We stopped on the way home for a quick tour of my office, which they seemed to enjoy. Then we moved on to Chantilly, where we had a Lenten-appropriate meal of baked fish, macaroni & cheese, asparagus, salad and homemade lemon meringue pie. After dinner, we enjoyed seeing Ed and Oscar try to watch soccer as our dogs demanded to be petted.
Saturday morning, I got up early to take Oscar to Dulles for his flight home. Ed was staying another day, so he and I went to the Air & Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center near here. That's where I shot the photo of Ed, in front of the Space Shuttle Enterprise.

In the late afternoon, Liz & Tom came over -- bringing along a wonderful blueberry pie that was still warm and some brownies.

We served roast beef, Yorkshire Pudding, mashed potatoes, turnip and salad. The photo of the pudding was taken moments after it came out of the oven. Not bad!
