Honors For Erin

A fun day for us all.

Erin was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi (the "International Honor Society in Education) this morning at Marymount. It's a nice recognition of the good work she's been doing.

Her grandparents came down yesterday, so they were at the brief ceremony with us. Afterward, we all went to breakfast and then while Erin headed home, we took the grandparents to the National Museum of the American Indian, down on the National Mall. We highly recommend it.

This evening, we went to dinner at Macaroni Grill -- and sat in the bar area so that we could be waited on by Matt. He took good care of us and at the end had one of his co-workers, Sondra, come over to sing a bit of an aria for us. Very impressive. She studied in Latvia, where she's from, and sings opera and jazz.

So we've had quite a good weekend. And the weather's been great too!

Here's a quick clip from the Kappa Delta Pi ceremony (we can forgive the chapter president for the mispronunciation, I guess):

And here are some photos from our breakfast:

Talking Turkey, Again

More (or, more likely, the same) turkeys on the mountain in W. Va. this weekend. Saw them as we were departing this morning.

Beautiful day yesterday. While Endurance Man (Cullen) may have put in 80-mile days and enjoyed some of the best riding he's ever experienced, we took it much easier. Reading. Lounging. I did go for a 2-3 mile run Saturday afternoon. But that was about the extent of our exercise.
