Great Day, Lousy Game

C and I went to the Nats-Cubs game today. Beautiful weather. Big crowd. Pretty good start -- and then in typical Nats fashion they booted plays and gave up big hits and lost. This time by 11-3.

We left before the 7th inning because it was already getting close to the three hour mark and that's enough baseball misery for one day.

We got a lot of work done around the house yesterday. Rearranged our bedroom for the heck of it. Did some yardwork. Washed two cars (waxed them today). Walked the dogs.

M got back Friday from a few days at the beach in N.C. I stopped by the restaurant yesterday afternoon to see him. Looks good.

Hope the last details get finished on the house closing tomorrow.

The latest word from my friend T, by the way, is that he may be able to visit next weekend. He's been busy, to say the least, with Drs. and de-briefings.

A Special Visitor Is Coming

There's word from my old friend T, who was my translator/fixer in Afghanistan, that he'll likely be coming to the D.C. area this week. Looks like he'll be able to stay with us for a night or two.

He's getting some medical treatment first. There's still no firm word on where he'll end up living, but given all he went through it won't be in Afghanistan anymore. He needs to get his family resettled soon.

Hopefully I'll have more to report about all this after he gets here, though I don't think I'll be able to put some of it on this blog.

C, E and I went to W. Va. on Friday and stayed until today. It was very nice having E with us. She seemed to have a good time, mostly just relaxing. We took the dogs on one good hike, did some work on the "cabin" and had one nice dinner out.

M reports having had a good time at the Red Sox-Nats game he got to go to with my tickets while I was in LV.
